Precious Trees Gone.........!!!!!

I was following this truck full of logs, stuck in a bad traffic jam, wondering how to by pass it......there was no chance of doing that.....so as I sat waiting for the jam to clear , I tried to count the number of logs it was carrying and also thinking how many trees were cut down for it and whether that many trees were planted to compensate this great loss. It hits you hard when you have the time to ponder about these things.....how mankind is set about destroying nature and what are we really doing in combating this menace. With all the Green Talks......Green Rallys.....Green marathon.....Green whatever.....going on , its pathetic to see this whole truck of logs going in front of me. And I thought timber business was banned here now ?????

It is terrible. On paper, many things are banned, but with the rampant corruption everything happens and mother earth suffers :(

I wonder about trees each time I use toilet paper or copy paper and try to recycle my newspaper. It's sad with the trees and so many have a beetle disease that turn ever greens to orange...

...and the worst part is that there's nothing much we could do about it, i wonder whether the world could become totally 'bald' one day, those so-called Green Talk will remain as just talk...same thing with the other Greens too

Yes, despite a lot of awareness, destruction of ecology continues.

What a shame it is.We are adding to global warming. There are laws under which tress can not be uprooted. But, laws are meant to be broken

Sad isn't it, we can only hope they replanted trees for the ones they cut down. Happy week-end.

I do hope that replanting is going on when the trees are cut down. It is indeed sad to see the land all littered with stumps.

If you hv traveled from Delhi to Mohali, which i did recently, you will see many trees being cut down. Part of the road widening project. Real sick :(
