Pulse Polio along the Indo-Bangla border........

I am back after a hectic 3 day Pulse Polio tour programme along the Indo Bangla border where i am posted. It was a hot and humid day and we immunised as many as 1200 children in all the villages falling under our juricdiction..... wondering what a dentist that i am, is doing with polio programme???? well when you are a government doctor you are a multi-purpose worker....and then i enjoy my work too. I have been doing so for all the years i have been posted in this hospital... only this year i tried to get some pictures to share here. The first picture is of the border road.....if you can call it a road..... that we have to take to go to these far flung villages ...taken from the moving ambulance. Just down the road is Bangladesh. On both sides of the roads we get to see the bettle nut plantation. The second picture we see an ASHA worker giving the drops to the child. In this part of the world you forget about Internets and phones ( mobile phone can be uses if you are willing to pay international charges for your call as you tend to get the bangladesh network.....well who can stop the waves from crossing the border...lol...) , you forget about the bomb blasts that so often threaten our country.....you forget about everything except what your purpose is.
