After the Guiness Book of Records for the largest drum essemble in 2006 and also the largest guitar essemble in 2007, Shillong is once again back in news with the world's biggest Jelebi as judged by the Limca Book of World Records thus making another record. The Jelebi was made by the town's most popular sweets shop, Delhi Mistan, and had a diameter of 76inches and weighed 15kg. 6 cooks and 14 helpers were engaged in making it. I do admit this is not a great picture but its the best i could get since the crowd was maddening......Hats off to the JELEBI which made Shillongites proud.

The Record Breaking Jelebi........

Autumn Festival In Shillong.......

As november rolled in with the onset of winter Shillong like every year saw the start of the Autumn Festival. November usually sees a lot of activities in Shillong because than the weather is just perfect.....warm sunny day and a little chilly evenings ...enough to remind people that the bitter cold is just around the corner. This was the inaugural parade of the autumn festival.....I was working when i suddenly heard the drums and by the time i could go and see and click pictures , the parade had passed the clinic and these were the few that i could manage .
