Farewell Dawki......

Things have been happening and it has been happening fast.....out of the blue my transfer order comes and before i knew i was posted out of Dawki and my new place of posting is Civil Hospital , Shillong. Well that was a welcome change after so many years of rural posting . As much as i would miss the PHC and Dawki , I knew, i was not to be permanantly posted here..... a day would come when i have to move out and that day is today when i was given a farewell by my staff......i was touched. I din't expect this......i usually hate farewells but none would take a No for an answer from me ......The message was clearly passed .......today i had to listen to them. So i attended the farewell function and it was an emotional gathering......each of my staff said a few words and i humbly accepted all the kind things they had to say about me ......all their wishes and all their blessings and also the gift they had for me......i was loss for words.....i felt i really don't deserve so much.......and i wish i could have done much more for them and the people of this small border village. Well , today would go down in my book of memories......there was nothing fancy......but each of my staff gave me back something in their own way, that i would remember forever.
