Orchids are seen all over Meghalaya.....In fact we get about 300 if not more varieties of orchids here......of which the Lady's Slipper orchid is suppose to be the state flower of Meghalaya. They fall under the more expensive varieties of flowers so its usually a pinch to the pocket to buy them..... Thats why more often than not they are also called ornamental flowers. Nevertheless for plant lovers like my mother its never an issue......Among the few varieties of them that we have, these have bloomed and well as i tell everyone else someone has to be there to admire them......so here I am with my cam......these were two proud displays of my mother at home. Beautiful Indeed!!!
