Being an MR or a medical representative is one job that i think one really has to have the patience to work.....of course all jobs need patience but this needs loads of patience. Its a tough job......i see these guys standing out side our room for hours together waiting to be called in and say a few words about their medicines........and some of us doctors don't even bother to listen to what they are saying..... thinking that we are a "know all group". How wrong we are. we studied pharmacology back in medical/dental college, but what these guys bring to us is a load of information about the latest research, the action of the drugs and so many things that no text book will give you and yet we don't even give them a patient hearing.......all we need are samples so that we can distribute among our elite group( well i drink the best scotch.... the liver caps are supplied by my doc fren...he gets them free...lol!!!! ....free indeed!) These are the guys you see travelling in the peak of summer .......some companies even have a dress code for them. oh boy! Tie and full shirt in summer ???? Hats off to them for coming and visiting us inspite of the long wait...... hey they sure deserve better respect....... if nothing at least a patient hearing. After all they are here because of their bread and butter.
