All Soul's Day.......

2nd of november is observed as All Soul's Day by the catholic faithfuls here in Shillong every year. On this day , people specially remember and honour their beloved ones which they have lost in their lives. They come to light candles and place wreaths and the priests come and say prayers and bless the cemetry. I have been to such a function and its awesome because for those few hours i feel the dead has come back to life......the revered silence in the stillness of the night.....the flickering candles......the cold breeze......its as if you are connecting with your loved ones who are now in a different world.....each person as they stand near their beloved's tomb with their head bow down..... they speak in silence. One is reminded this is all where the journey ends......only the road that each one of us takes is different. Each leave with a solemn heart......hopefully to come back the following year.
