Hampi....." Poetry in Stones "

Hampi is a small village in Karnataka on the banks of Tungabhadra River, About 340km from Bangalore and 13 km from Hospet. It is located within the ruins of Vijaynagara, the former capital of the Vijaynagara kingdom. Several monuments can be found here, taking us back to the glorious period of Indian History. These ruins at Hampi are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.It was a wonderful tour and if you happen to visit Bangalore...then it is worth taking some time off and making a trip to Hampi. Its truely poetry written in stones.

have'nt been to this pic but the Ganesha Idol gives glimpses of statues in Ellora and the gate in
2nd pic looks the gate looks like some what similar to the entrance of City Palace in Jaipur.

Seems like place more than worth visiting
