After Easters, we now have the New Year celebrations here in the eastern part of the country And i believe also up in the North. In this part, the Bengali's and Assamese's would be celebrating the new year 14Th April being the last day of the year according to the Hindu calender. It is usually a time to greet your loved ones......a time to indulge in a varieties of delicacies( the weight scale is pushed to the side for the time being)......a time to adorn oneself with new clothes and jewelries......( and shoes). lol! The sweets or Pithas seen in the picture here are from Assam. Most of the preparations are rice and coconut based and this white long pitha is my favorite.
Here's wishing everyone a very happy Rongali Bihu!!!....Subho Nobobarsha!!!..Happy Baisakhi!!!.
