A Heavy Down Pour.....

Shillong saw her first heavy down pour for the last two days.....the monsoons have arrived looks like.Today it poured the whole day......in fact some schools called off for the day for the heavy showers...umbrellas were not holding up and most children were wet to their skin. The temperatures came down abruptly and people were leaving their cozy homes only when they have to.......well i had to leave the house for work.......but this year am able to accept the rains better.....i have learnt to appreciate the beauty of the rains......( hello are people listening!!!).....here i was sitting in my car this afternoon looking out at the wet world outside and enjoying a cup of hot black sugarless tea from my thermos with Maywood playing in the back ground......and honestly speaking its the first time i actually enjoyed the rains.......by the time i finished the tea in my thermos , i had to get back to work and very reluctantly i went back to extracting.....drilling......filling ....!!! Ugh!!!

Your post reminds me of my Siikim days. I worked in Jorethang, Namchi, Singtum and Mongon where it used to rain like that.
