Wise Words........!!!!!!

I was crossing Archie's Gallery one evening and this was a beautiful poster I saw on their door way. It holds so true in our day to day activities . Most of us think its our birth right......juniors should respect elders.......elders should be addressed as uncle...aunt....bhaiya...didi....etc. Something I don't understand really. When we were freshers.....we were once called by our seniors and briefed how we should address them as a mark of respect. "Hey that's fine......but isn't that demanding respect ".....I often thought. Well who was going to argue this ???? Any ways its another story that some people were newly baptized with names by us lol !!!!!......and we had a ball in the hostel , in spite of all the dos and don'ts. Even now in our day to day lives , we are often reminded of our manners. But really can you demand respect like that ???? I believe that true respect comes from the heart and should be earned by us.......not get it on demand.

I see both sides, perhaps because I am older...lol! It becomes very normal for today's youth to be disrespectful and casual...even though those they interact with have earned their respect, it's not the young's way to act that way. Unfortunately...

There is a difference between courtesy and respect. We always have to be polite to our elders, but that does not mean that we have to respect or follow their views all the time. Respect comes automatically if the person has the right attitude.
