Rain Water Harvesting......!!!!!

Though we get a good amount of rainfall here , people living in the city do face acute water crisis sometimes......so much so that in the winter months , when our Umiam Lake go dry too, because of the heavy power consumption we have power shut down every couple of hours till the rains come ......and a lot of people have to buy water to tide over their daily needs. So most of us try to do rain water harvesting in our house. Rain water is collected, and several steps of filtration is done ( we need to do these days because of the level of pollution in the air ) before it is used for consumption. I recall when we were younger, rain water was so clean that is was considered cleaner then the supply water we get through the municipality. Suppose to be rich in minerals, good for the skin, hair and body....after a couple of down pours, its great to take a bath with the rain water.

Wonderful! I think if everyone invests in rain water harvesting, a lot of our water woes will be addressed.
