An IDA, Meghalaya Branch Meet........

The Indian Dental Association is an association consisting of all dentists in India. Now with the increasing number of dentists from different parts of the country, different states have formed their own branch with its head quaters in Mumbai. In Meghalaya too with the increase in number of dentists it was decided that we form a branch of our own. Thus IDA, Meghalaya Branch was born in February 2007 with enthusiastic members and a vision to work towards the betterment of oral health and create awareness among the people of the state. In fact last year, with the help of our sponsors Colgate-Palmolive we were able to cover about 22,000 school children under the school health programme "Bright Smile .....Bright Future". We have also done various awareness programmes with the media on World Oral Health Day that falls on the 12th of september.Today we met for an election of the executive commitee and another set of programmes and action plan was decided for the coming year. The later part of the evening saw some lighter moments with the Christmas season on ....we had a gift exchange session followed with a game of Housie and dinner. It was lovely meeting all our members and also some new members. For once the dentists were talking everything else but dentistry. Thank God!!! lol.
