Come December and the orange season is here. Oranges are grown in almost every house in Shillong who has space. We have about four trees in our garden itself.....so its like when ever am home , the desert after lunch would be orange salad......now that's a type of salad we make here where oranges are chopped into small pieces and its mixed with mustard leaf and lemon . Finally add some salt and if you wish a little bit of sugar and red chili powder to give you that tangy sweet sour taste. wow. its simply lovely to feel all that real Vit C going into your body......good for your skin , gums, and on the whole your immune system. So enjoy friends the goodness of oranges....better still try the oranges of Shillong ..... :) .

Hi! I enjoyed looking at your blog today. I found you through a comment you left somewhere I had also posted on. I hope you are liking your new place to live and work.
I like this post on oranges. I have some kale I'd like to try in your recipe instead of mustard leaves. I love the way you encouraged your readers to eat what is good for them in the oranges.
@Prachi Pandey
well prachi you are most welcome to shillong...it would take you 3 hrs by flight and 3hrs by road.not too much of a distance really. So do plan up a trip with your whole gang.Would love to be the hostess.
@ Bang Irwan
thanks for dropping by my blog.
@ sue
Thanks sue for dropping by my blog and thanks for your wishes too. Well i don't know what is Kale but may be you could try it out .
If you are interested, click on my name here, where I have put a link to the page I have a 3 part series on kale. You'll need to scroll down to find them. I don't know if it gets cool enough in India to grow it, but there are different kinds, too.
By the way, that was me that gave the link to my blog. I don't think my picture will show, since I used a different way so my link would go to my older page.

Fruits look and taste much better than sweets, but are generally taken for granted. Next time, it will be nice to see pictures of oranges before they are plucked.
seems delicious!!
your recipe is mouth watering!
Great shot... I love it.
I wish I ever have been in India.
