As I was driving down Gauhati the other day, I saw a man selling these leaves. In fact am seeing some one selling them after quite a while. These are a type of leaves that are used to pack all types of things except of course liquid......starting from non veg items to veg to everything. Yes, you can pack your lunch too. They are specially grown and cultivated for this purpose....( I really don't know if it has any other use ) but with the invasion of plastic bags in the recent years, these leaves had lost its market. Everyone else opted for the more easier and cheaper option......till the environmental conscious people here realized how harmful plastics are for the environment.......they are now helping these villagers promote their products again. It works out a little costly but then all good things come with a price I suppose.

That's a really cool idea, I've never heard of this.
I am starting to see a lot of cloth bags where I live. It's good to see a lot of people becoming aware of the harm plastic baggies can cause on the environment.
