Road Side Veggie Mall......!!!!!

Road side stops like these are only seen as you move a little to the out skirts of the city. This was a stop we did on our way to the Shillong Peak. People from the near by villages would come up to the main road and put up little stalls like these to sell their vegetables. These are home grown usually and are sold in lump some. Some of them are just plucked straight from the fields and brought up to the road side. I love to shop in these malls as I call them where you can just stop the car and pick up all fresh stuffs and the best part is that you don't have a parking problem. Open your car and keep piling till you are done. What else can one ask for???

we call them farmers markets in america. We got some luscious strawberries in california on our last trip at a roadside stand. Yum!

We used to love going to these farmers' market when we lived in the US. The casual feel, the fresh veggies; it's an amazing experience! I miss that in India.

Some of them are called the weekly markets but personally, I would love to be buying from such outlets

I love these road side "malls" too. We call them as the farmers market. There's one little problem though, i can't resist buying up all those fresh veggies and there's a tendency to overstock and later there's bound to be excesses to be discarded and the dustbins became the ultimate consumer!
