The glass casket carrying the life size wax statue and a relic of the 19th century Saint Don Bosco, more popularly known as a friend of the Youth, arrived in the city on June 4th. The relic, a bone from the right hand of the Saint in wax image is on a pilgrimage from Italy across 131 countries where Don Bosco Selasians run educational institutions . The journey was started in 2009 and would complete in 2015 to mark the bi centenary year of the Saint.
The institution in Shillong has been a centre of both informal and formal education for thousands of boys and we are indeed lucky to have such a school in our city.
Hundreds of people payed homage to the Saint and it was indeed a strange feeling to have Him in our amidst.May the Youth be truely blessed!!!.
