Yummy Yam........!!!!!!

Till some years back this is one vegetable I would not have touched even with a barge pole.....but during my rural posting in Dawki , like a lot of things that I learnt there, I also learnt to eat yams. My first time was when I had gone on a house call in the village,I was offered tea with boiled yams dipped generously in honey. Ugh!!!! was my first reaction. Obviously I could not refuse. So I had this for the first time and to be honest I really enjoyed.....and till date that is the only way I like to have it. Well, yam is a tuberous vegetable rich in vitamin C, B6 and potassium . Also rich in dietary fibres and a lot of other minerals.Yams can be cooked in a variety of ways apart from having it like the way I did . For all hypertensive people and weight watchers start falling in love with this tuber. Suppose to do wonders for you.
